TEHRAN – Rasoul Motamedi of Iran claimed a gold medal at the 2022 Asian Weightlifting Championships.

He finished in first place in the 109kg category with a total of 397kg. Motamedi lifted 180kg in the snatch and 217kg in the clean and jerk.

The silver medal went to Bekdoolot Rasulbekov (KGZ) with 173kg-216kg-389kg, while Bing-Cheng Dong (TPE) took the bronze with 386kg.

The 2022 Asian Weightlifting Championships were held in Manama, Bahrain from Oct. 6 to 16.
